London Pro Musica Choir (LPMC) is honoured to announce that our president Ian Davies, was inducted in to the London Music Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement on June 9, 2024 at the annual Forest City London Music Awards Gala held at the Aeolian Hall.
Last year, Ian was awarded the Jack Burghardt Community “Service Above Self” Award on June 26, 2023 presented by Rick Coates, Rotary Club of London President 2023-24. This award recognizes a member of the Rotary Club of London who is primarily involved as an active community volunteer in “non-Rotarian” activities, and secondarily as an active member within the Rotary Club of London.
Ian has been associated with London’s Sunfest since 1997 and is currently Special Projects Coordinator. He helped establish the revival of the Cuckoo’s Nest Folk Club at Chaucer’s Pub in 1994 and has been its artistic director for 30 years, a position he still holds. Ian sings bass with the celebrated Canadian Celtic Choir (is also Concert & Promotions Chair) and traveled with the CCC to England, Scotland, Hawaii, and the Maritimes. Ian is the founder & co-chair of the Ken Palmer High School Music Bursary which awards two $1000 bursaries each year to graduating High School music students going on to post-secondary music education.
