
This special concert is an updated version Oliver Whitehead’s “Mass for All Creatures.” It combines London Pro Musica Choir with St. James Westminster Choir, and members of the award-winning Antler River Project. We are very grateful to The Good Foundation for its support of this concert and the re-launching of this exceptional work. The church hall will be open at 6:30 pm for viewing of environmental displays. The concert begins at 7:30 pm and there is no intermission.
“The Mass For All Creatures” was composed by Oliver Whitehead, with lyrics by Oliver Whitehead and Mary Malone Whitehead, and additional text taken from “The Prayer of St. Francis.” It was commissioned by St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral in London, Ontario for a Blessing of the Animals ceremony and was written for adult choir, children’s choir and an ensemble of flute, Celtic harp, guitar, piano, bass and 3 percussionists. It premiered at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral in London, Ontario on October 4, 1997.
Admission is by free will donation with a suggested amount of $20 per person.
